Description/Data:

ProNGF is the pro-form of the neurotrophin nerve growth factor. Like the mature protein proNGF is characterized by the cysteine knot motif consisting of three cysteine bridges. The protein predominantly exists as a non-covalently linked homodimer.
Technical Note: The proNGF is a 50 kDa dimer in solution, on SDS-PAGE monomer at about 25-30 kDa is detected. To analyze this protein on an SDS-PAGE., DTT as a reduction agent is absolutely necessary.
